Fujifilm’s Hydro AG antibacterial coating is incorporated onto the outer surfaces of the FDR AQRO mini portable and FDR D-EVO II digital radiography detectors
Hydro AG is a silver ion nano-coating, engineered to prevent colonization of germs/bacteria on the surfaces. Learn more about Hydro AG at the following webpage
Fujifilm’s Hydro AG antibacterial coating is not a substitute for normal Infection Controls, safety protection and cleaning guidelines. Normal precautions should all, still be followed such as bagging and wiping down the detector. Hydro AG in combination with properly followed Infection Control policies can provide an added safety measure and when it comes to helping prevent spread of germs.
Fujifilm’s unique HYDRO AG coating formulation has been found to be 99.99% effective against Staphylococcus Aureus (staph); E. coli; Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE), and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) along with a wide range of bacteria. See brochure for more details.
*NIH Information on silver ion coatings: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6695748/ “Silver nanoparticles have mainly been studied for their antimicrobial potential against bacteria, but have also proven to be active against several types of viruses.”
Not tested for COVID-19.
Having the right equipment in place is essential to counter the COVID-19 pandemic. As a total healthcare company involved in Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment, Fujifilm is committed to supporting the brave clinicians caring for COVID-19 patients with cutting-edge medical equipment. Click here to learn how Fujifilm’s FDR Go PLUS portable digital radiography system is helping healthcare providers around the world in the fight against COVID-19 with one of the market’s smallest, quietest, and most agile full-size portables.
The CDC’s first recommendation to infection prevention is to adhere to Standard Precautions as the minimum practices that apply to all patient care whether or not an infection is confirmed and are used in conjunction with the facility’s specified Infection Control Policies and Procedures. These begin with the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of potentially contaminated equipment or surfaces in the patient environment. As such, the first line of defense for every exam is the proper use of radiographic bags as a primary barrier between each use on a patient as well as a primary barrier between the patient and the Fujifilm digital x-ray equipment during use.
Always consult the manufacturer’s instructions and precautions, and follow the disinfectant manufacturer’s specified instructions. Due to the variety of materials and surfaces incorporated on each specific product, it is imperative that facilities refer to each product’s corresponding service manual for cleaning instructions and precautions.
Finishes and Materials – High concentration chemical solutions may dull finishes or permanently degrade materials
Sprays – We recommended dampening a soft cloth or using moistened wipes, instead of directly spraying surfaces.
Internal Components – Special care should be taken to not overly dampen areas that could allow seepage inside.
Bagging – as normal best practice, it is always critical to properly bag and even double or triple bag detectors prior to use.

The FDR AQRO is a complete mini mobile digital X-ray system that combines the high sensitivity detectors and refined image processing to quickly acquire high-resolution images with very low power. Its non-traditional size and portability were engineered for departments such as the NICU, PICU, ER, and OR so it also features a unique clean design with less cords and germ resistant surfaces to help simplify decontamination. Providers are able to conduct imaging anywhere, even in an outdoor mobile clinic, with immediate image previews and fast patient-to-patient turnaround times.
Fujifilm has developed an exclusive formulation of antibacterial silver-ion coating, Hydro AG™, which provides an innovative moisture activated added layers of protection to suppress growth of various types of bacteria, microorganisms and mold on a detector’s surfaces. It is 99.99% effective against most common bacteria, 100 times* more effective than traditional coatings and 10,000 times* more effective than surfaces with no coating. Click here for more information. (Information sheet, white paper, video.) *Based on residual bacteria counts.
Fujifilm’s Hydro AG antibacterial coating has not been tested against the novel COVID-19. Antibacterial coatings are not a substitute for normal Infection Controls, safety protection and cleaning guidelines. Normal precautions such as protective bagging and disinfectant wipe down should all still be followed. Fujifilm’s Hydro AG coating is a silver ion nano-coating, engineered to very effectively prevent colonization of germs/bacteria on its surfaces (see additional details further down). The Hydro AG coating coupled with properly followed Infection Control policies, can provide an added safety measure in preventing the colonization of bacteria on detector surfaces.

Collaborative care happens when physicians across the enterprise can instantly access the latest patient data, clinical statements, and report histories—and communicate over shared exam states with their colleagues. This is the level of collaboration that a health crisis requires.
Recent research has indicated that common cardiology conditions may increase the severity of COVID-19 symptoms and prognosis. In response, professional societies are issuing preparedness guidelines and recommendations for delivering safe and effective care in light of the pandemic.
The following Synapse Cardiology PACS features support the physical distancing and procedural recommendations published by the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE).

Improving the way images are seen, shared, and interacted with across the enterprise can help providers deliver the efficient, accurate, and exceptional patient care. This type of care delivery is expected everyday, and is essential during times of crisis.
With a comprehensive feature set that includes pulmonary applications, clinicians are utilizing Synapse 3D to supplement diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 patients with tools that identify the diseased lung tissue and determine the extent of infection. Specific Synapse 3D Pulmonary applications include:

Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS)
With low complication rates and the ability to provide diagnostic information, EBUS has become the standard of care for visualizing airway walls and adjacent structures. Combined with transbronchial needle aspiration (TBNA) of mediastinal and hilar structures and parabronchial lung masses, EBUS-TBNA procedures give Pulmonologists the ability to identify masses and prepare them for staging.
The Fujifilm EB-530US EBUS scope is a powerful diagnostic tool that can be used as either a standard forward viewing bronchoscope with a 10° forward oblique view, or as an ultrasound scope providing information on hyperechoic and hypoechoic tissues.
Supporting both types of EBUS – radial probe EBUS and convex probe EBUS – Fujifilm also offers Pulmonologists standard, treatment, slim, and super image Bronchoscopes for treatment.
Fujifilm Systems Integration is designed specifically for image and data integration in endoscopic suites, ORs, and hybrid ORs. We give clinical and IT staff on-demand access, control, viewing and storage of data, delivering powerful toolsets to support the current COVID-19
health crisis.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that both businesses and individuals use hand sanitizer to prevent or treat COVID-19 when soap and water aren’t available. Unfortunately, when COVID-19 made its way to the United States, there was a shortage of cleaning and sanitizing products, including hand sanitizer.
As part of our commitment to counter the COVID-19 pandemic and keep healthcare professionals and patients safe, FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. introduced antiseptic products to help meet the growing need. This hand sanitizer is an alcohol based sanitizer made to the formula recommended by the FDA. It contains no gels or scenting agents to inhibit its effectiveness. The sanitizer has a distinct alcohol odor which disappears in 10-15 seconds as the product evaporates, leaving behind no lingering smell. It also contains a small amount of glycerin which acts as a moisturizer to keep from drying the skin.
